Class of 1986

Pauline Bromfield
I would love to hear from those who remember me! I am working as an Educational Psychologist in Birmingham.

Ruth Curtis (Drama)
Have finally moved from a house in Huddersfield to a flat in Oxford (don’t most people go from flats to houses?). Still acting, directing, temping, drinking, having fun.

Sarah Dunn (nee Shires) (American Studies)
Just moved back to London after five years in Bermuda … I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me so please email on sarah@sdunn11.freeserve.co.uk

Mark Fletcher (Politics)
After 9 years abroad (8 in Italy), I’ve finally returned to Blighty and my home town of Sheffield, tempted back by the alluring charms of Sarah Golding (English and German ’89). Struggling to adapt, particularly to the weather, but Sarah and Sheffield United help a lot! Still working with Moto Guzzi motorcycles. Hi to all who remember me.

Paul Foster (Computer Science)
Working for IBM. Living in Bracknell, Berkshire, with my wife Linda and three daughters, Louise, Cordelia and Tazmin.

Jeremy Justice (Geography)
Having survived two mergers in the last three years, I am still employed by the same company I joined 15 years ago. Living just outside York with my partner and three year old daughter. Where did the Downs boys go? Drop me an email if you’re out there. Jez.Justice@talk21.com

Howard Mair (Engineering Design and Manufacture)
Currently working for Electrocomponents in Oxford and suffering the daily grind of the ‘ring road’ traffic. I am involved in a SAP implementation project at the moment and travel abroad often, especially to France. Still involved with Scouts (3rd Buckingham) and have taken up running this year (Great North Run 2001). Married to Tina (nee Evans, English ’85), we have three sons and a Labrador.

Pasko Matic (French Language and Education)
Financial Adviser running my own business called UNITAS and based in Scunthorpe.

Kersi Mehta (Law)
I have, most unfortunately, lost touch with my batch mates and really desire to re-establish links with anyone from Hull who still remembers me. Email, phone, letters – anything. Instant response is guaranteed. KERSHASP@SATYAM.NET.IN

Alexia Monroe (nee Dowell Lee) (History and Politics)
A new baby – Dominic, born 2 October. A brother for Phyllida (July ’97) and Charmain (January ’00). Charles and I are busy with our engineering consultancy and still very much involved with our local church in Moreton-in-Marsh.

Stephen Pickard (Geography)
I’m now based in Madrid but travelling the length and breadth of Spain in my job as a Teacher Trainer for a publisher.

Geoffrey Rowlands (French)
Recently bought a house in Kent and have found new love with an old friend! Still working as a subtitler in London. Anyone who remembers me please contact me via email: geoff_rowlands@hotmail.com

Virginia Sharp (nee Kalcev)
I am living in Cambridge, working for the NHS. I am in regular contact with Elaine Reeman, Sue Lewis and I see Rebecca about twice a week as she lives in Cambridge (French ’86). Also regularly see Jane Howarth, Nikki Goode and Andrew Tedbury. Any more French ’86 or Cranbrookers?

Carole Shiels (nee Slater) (Chemistry)
I am now a Deputy Head in a local primary school in the East Riding, teaching all infant ages in the one class! My daughter, Sarah, has started school now – a different one from where I teach! Fond memories of my time at Hull University.

Richard Smith (Mathematics)
I have settled in Ipswich with my partner Michelle and our daughter Zoe. I would love to hear from old friends and catch up on their latest news – I am still in the same job! Email me at rsmith@almondbeach.fslife.co.uk
