Class of 1991

Joanne Ibbotson (Nursing)
After an adventure in New Zealand I am now undergoing a total career change. I am a trainee manager for McDonalds. I see Karen Morris (Psychology ’89) and am an aunty to her two gorgeous children (her husband refers to me as his second wife!). I am hoping my new career will teach me all I need to know to set up my dream coffee shop. Anyone who knows me, my email is jodi_pops@yahoo.com

Thomas Keene (Economics)
After a brief and boring career in banking, I joined the Army (infantry). I served for 7 years, survived three tours of Northern Ireland and specialised in Jungle Warfare/Counter Insurgency. From December 2000, worked for various warlords in West Africa, and have now retired. Living in Hampshire. Engaged to Sarah.

Wenzheng Li (Politics)
To all ’90/’91 International Relations grads and the faculty members who know me. Since the Hull years I have been with the People’s Daily, a Chinese national newspaper in Beijing. Now I am the Deputy Director General of its Foreign Affairs Bureau. I have lost touch with some friends and wish all of them the best. Lez.wshj@PEOPLEDAILY.COM.CN

Simon Lumsdon (Chemistry)
Not drunk myself into an early grave yet. Married Teresa (nee Neilon) who I met at Uni. Just had a little lad called Jack. Can be contacted on Teresa.Simon@Virgin.net All the best to everyone I know.

Helen McNulty (nee Moore) (Nursing Sciences)
Gave birth to our beautiful little girl Abby in July 2001. Enjoyed Christmas and New Year before returning to work part-time. Sorry I missed the reunion – hope to see everybody soon.

Stuart May (Drama)
Stayed on at Hull and completed a PGCE, have been teaching since.

Anne Richards (nee Saunders) (Music)
Recently moved to Kirk Ella, still enjoying my youth work combined with music in Orchard Park at St Michael’s Youth Project. Enjoying the challenge of work, parenthood and singing regularly in a band. Looking forward to the arrival of our 2nd child during October 2001.

Peter Simonds (Mathematics)
I married Jacqueline (a Canadian) in May 2001 and we are currently renovating a house in Wimbledon. Regularly see the Dynamo Throbbers/Ferens gang. Still working for a software house in the city but am now a VP.

Ian Storey (History)
In January 2001 I completed my PhD at the City University of Hong Kong. I am now a lecturer in defence studies at Deaking University in Melbourne, Australia. I am also teaching at the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies, the Australian Defence College, Canberra. ijstorey@deakin.edu.au

Shuk Yeung (Social Policy with Social Work)
Have just completed my work in a family serves centre and now busy preparing for my wedding (24 March 2002). Morris and I were schoolmates in the theological school where I had completed a counselling course in 1991.
