Gary Aanetsen (Computer Science)
I am still working for Eds near Durham. Anyone wanting to contact me can reach me at: Gary@aanetsen.net

Lori Almandoz (Management)
Working in management in an insurance brokerage firm. My degree is finally paying off! LORI.ALMANDOZ@MARSH.COM

Anya Bajaria (European Studies)
Hello from Amsterdam! I’m still here working for the tour operator EF. I’m now also organising performing arts tours in Italy and Austria for school choirs, orchestras and dance groups. Finally got to use those languages! If you are in the area feel free to drop me a line: anya.barjaria@ef.com

Sarah Berry (Geography)
Currently back at university doing a part time course to get a university certificate of professional development with hopes to get sponsorship to do an MBA in the next year. Worked in various locations for Boots including Head Office in Nottingham. Still not sure what I want to do, even after all these years. Would especially love to hear from anyone who lived in Lambert Hall C Block ’94–’96.

Matthew Brace (Drama)
We were very happily married in August 2001 and now live in London. Matt is working on sound in film and Debbie is inspiring the lives of others in the classroom!

Meg Burton (Theology)
Having completed five years working as a Methodist Minister in the Gainsborough area, I was appointed Ecumenical Chaplain, based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Louise Dolby (Nursing)
Working in intensive care at Hull Royal Infirmary. Currently on the ENB100 Intensive Care Nursing Course. Hi to everyone who I trained with.

Alan Edwards (English)
Left Hull at the end of June 2001 to return to my home town of Stockport. I lived in Hull for almost 40 years but was always considered a ‘foreigner’. Now settled down and am still enjoying my retirement. My partner, David Prescott (who may be remembered as a driving instructor in Hull and taught several university students to drive including one student union president), is now employed by City Bank Corp at Salford Quays.

Sam Edwards (Politics)
Hello, I’m now a fireman. Not much has changed since I left University. I have developed a few more habits and met a few more women, however, I remain the same at heart. If anyone fancies a line you can contact me on taqueer_mahmood@hotmail.com

Rebekah Grochowska (Biology)
I create, implement and evaluate marketing strategies to encourage people from minority groups to join Nottinghamshire police. I also manage the accelerated promotion scheme for graduates. Outside work my time is divided between studying, decorating and enjoying myself. Email rgrochowska@hotmail.com

Catherine Hine (Politics)
Went on to do an MA at School of Slavonic and East European Studies and a certificate in voluntary sector management. Also completed EU funded placement in NE Estonia. Currently business manager/project manager for a charity working to improve healthcare in the CIS. Also working in advisory capacity for a couple of other charities. Always very interested to hear from people connected with me at University/interested in CIS/Eastern Europe/NGO/development work.

Emily Mann (nee Cundick) (Social Policy)
Left for Canada straight after finishing my placement – just for a year. Nearly five years later I’m still here! Met a Mountie – hence the name change praise God! – and also scored my dream job in a Christian counselling centre. Would love to hear from the D Reckitt Hall gang and CU friends.

Michelle Merrigan (Law)
Now working in Stockport after working in St Albans and Coventry. Still with Fez (Richard Field – Economics ’97) and still lamenting those three years in Hull, when I could take my drink!

Elvis Nwachukwu (Law)
Anyone who wants to know what life is like as a high street solicitor, get in touch. Still in London. I’m about to make it!! ElvisNwachukwu@aol.com

Dean Patrick (Chemistry)
I work as a primary care medical representative in the Wirral and Cheshire.
Andrew Redfern (Combined Languages)
Well, got bored with life in Finland (the language didn’t help, to be honest), so went back to Sweden, dragging my girlfriend with me. Still teaching English (badly), this time in Lund, in the south. Still complaining about wages and the awful Swedish beer, but Copenhagen’s only an hour away, so who cares? Email andyredfern74@hotmail.com

Peter Simcock (Law)
Now working in Wolverhampton as a specialist social worker. Enjoy being in the Midlands but still miss Hull every now and then.

Sophie Talbot (nee McDermott) (Economics)
I’m now working as a community resources co-ordinator for the Probation Service in Cambridgeshire, which I am really enjoying. Had a baby girl in October 2000.

James Walmsley (Computer Systems Engineering)
Trying to fix computers when they go wrong at AEI Music in Keston, Kent.

David Warren (Mechanical and Materials Engineering)
Hi to everyone who knows me ‘Jockey’. Since leaving Hull I’ve worked for LEP back in Whittlesey with Chris Dee and Lee Millward. Chris has now moved on to be a Driving Instructor since becoming a Dad. In 2001 I was best man to Dave Stockill and Donna (nee Leah). david@davidwarren.fsnet.co.uk
