Lucy Akator (MBA General Business Administration)
I’m now lecturing at KNUST. It’s very interesting and I’m enjoying it. I miss Hull though, especially ‘The Girls’ of the General MBA ’98 graduate group. God bless and keep you all. Sulafa, where are you?

Benjamin Demiere (Contemporary International Studies)
I undertook in Oct ’98 a PhD at the University of Sussex on the cooperation of police agencies at the EU level. I carried out part of my empirical studies in Rome in 2000. I completed in 2001 a one-year course at the Doctoral School of the ‘Institut d’Etudes Politiques’ (Paris – France) and I’ve worked for six months as an International Media Analyst at the Prime Minister’s Information Office. I’ll begin in 2002 a two year job at the French Embassy in Delhi for the Science and Technology Dept.

Stephen Dobbs (Business Studies)
Training to be a secondary school teacher. Currently at Kelvin Hall School, Hull, as a PE Instructor.

Nicholas Fawdrey (Business Studies)
I have just returned from a year’s trip around the world and start as a corporate banker for the Royal Bank of Scotland in the New Year either in London or Edinburgh. I still have fantastic memories of my time at Hull – Email nfawdrew@hotmail.com

Susan Ferris (Biology)
Big hello to everyone from Class of ’99. I’ve just finished my accountancy exams (definitely the last I’ll ever do) so qualify next year. Hope to work abroad if they’ll have me. Miss the Res. massively. Special hello to Helen, Lara, JB and Will.

Samuel Greaves (Music)
Following the PG Diploma I’m doing an individualised programme of study at Trinity College of Music, London, and am enjoying life in the big smoke! There are lots of opportunities for orchestral playing and highlights most recently were with the Britten Tenors Baroque Orchestra at Aldeburgh and the National Musicians Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican. Samantha Hawcroft (English)
I am now a senior sub-editor at the Hull Daily Mail, having trained on the job and qualified as a production journalist (editing, designing, headlining, all to crazy deadlines!). I finished my MA while working too. On Saturdays you’ll find me watching Hull City’s surely inevitable march to glory. Up the Tigers!

Emma Kirk (Psychology)
I am living and working in Oxford for a practice of Occupational Psychologists. After leaving Hull I travelled around Europe and then completed an MSc at UMIST in Manchester. I had a great time at Hull – made some fabulous friends and the staff were fantastic.

Sarah Luck (Nursing)

Anna Marshall (History)
After a gap year on leaving Uni which I spent back packing round South America, I did a PGCE in History at Homerton College and am now teaching at Bishop’s Stortford College.

Joanne Rawson (nee Thorpe) (Geography)
I am now extremely happily married to Adam and am working for the National Trust at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire as ‘Information Supervisor and Recruiter’ and am enjoying every minute of it! It’s so great to be doing a job that I’ve always wanted to do.

Julie Richardson (Theology)
At present I’m working for a national electrical retailers (originally established in Hull) in their administration department, credit card checking/investigation section. Waiting to apply to become a local hospital Chaplain in the New Year.

Patricia Shaw (nee Cowan) (French)

Nicola Tabarn (French)
After leaving Hull, went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. Wrote for the national newspapers for 18 months and am now a general news reporter at the Liverpool Echo.
