Graham Stukins (Physics ’59)

Graham and Janet (nee Wilkinson, Geography ’60) have retired to Cumbria, having spent the previous 25 years in Dorset. Graham was a lecturer in statistics and operational research at Bournemouth University.
Graham plays golf and he and Janet are both interested in bowling and fell walking. Janet is a keen lace maker and has written a book on Downton lace.

Nicholas Brimblecombe (English and Drama ’73)

Nicholas BrimblecombeSomeone might remember when at Hull my interests included travel and older motor cars. These have finally come together after 25 years of running specialist travel companies with the Grand Touring Club (www.grandtouringclub.co.uk).

You may have seen me on ITV in 2000 when Judith Chalmers drove our Aston Martin DB6 round Suffolk for Wish You Were Here …? Or on BBC 1 with our 2CV Citroëns in SW France with Jilly Goolden on the Holiday programme?

I remarried in 2000, also my 50th, although Sally and I had been together for some years. Our respective children are now at University (but sadly, none at Hull!)

Joyce Sage (Geog ’60)

Joy has kindly sent these photographs, which certainly make a fashion statement for the late 50s.

The Thwaite Summer Ball
The colour photo was taken at the Thwaite Summer Ball (Joyce is on the left). The black-and-white photo, taken by the Hull Daily Mail in October 1957, shows freshers gathered in the Mixed Common Room – Joyce tells us that she is the undergraduate with the clutch bag!

Brian Woodcock (Law ’62)

Brian WoodcockBrian lives and works in Runcorn, and has been a practising solicitor for 30 years. He and his wife, Jean, have two daughters: Caroline, who is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, and Charlotte, who is hoping to pursue a career in medicine.

A keen rower, Brian has been a member of Runcorn Rowing Club for 40 years, having rowed for the Hull University Boat Club.

The photo shows Brian in his heyday, and we wonder if there are any of you out there who rowed with him? Please contact Bridget Mustard in the Development and Alumni Relations Office.
